Introducing: Modern Brunch Cooking Class!
Brunch is one of my all-time favorite meals. It's like breakfast, but better, because it's usually more relaxed, more drawn-out, and involves a crowd. Oh yes, and there's usually a cocktail involved! My friend Irene and I were recently discussing brunch, talking about what Italians vs. North Americans typically eat in the mornings - Italians almost never eat anything sweet for breakfast, whereas Canadians love their pancakes, maple syrup and sweet rolls!Irene owns a gorgeous Bed & Breakfast just outside of Florence called Valdirose. Through our conversations that day about breakfast traditions, we came up with an idea: to host brunch workshops together! I can bring my own culinary skills and North American perspective all the way to Italy to show her guests what a truly decadent, authentic North American brunch looks like. The class will be very hands-on and we'll even get the chance to photograph the dishes once they're complete!I wanted to add a little twist, however. Instead of typical pancakes, eggs, and bacon, I wanted to create a slightly more elevated, refined menu. This is what I came up with:
Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with Berry SyrupEggs Benedict with Charred TomatoesPork Patties with Herbed DressingPotato Cakes with Whipped CreamA Signature Cocktail
Doesn't that sound absolutely delicious! My mouth is watering just thinking about it.With all that being said, that brings me to the official announcement: I'm launching new Brunch Cooking Classes! The first one will take place at Irene's gorgeous B&B Valdirose in Italy, while the second one will take place back home in Canada. I'm very excited, and I hope that you'll join me!The Brunch Workshop at Valdirose will take place October 28th, 2018 while the Brunch Workshop in Canada will take place November 17th, 2018.
